If you're a data center professional in search of a new job, no doubt daily news reports of layoffs and high unemployment rates aren't doing much to bolster your spirits. Don't despair. While it's true that companies are being more selective in hiring, there are always jobs out there for qualified, hard working individuals within the industry. In fact, a preliminary search brought up thousands of data center and systems administrator job openings nationwide. Below are a few recent listing found on industry job boards.

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Data Center Facilities Manager. This position will oversee facility operations, planning and maintenance of their Eagan, MN data centers. A background in business, engineering and management of critical technical systems is required.

Moody's Corporation in San Francisco is in search of a Senior Data Center Engineer. Qualified candidates should have a bachelor's degree with at least eight years of relevant experience as a systems/storage engineer with system administration responsibilities.

Google is looking to hire a Data Center Site Director and a Data Center Facilities Manager for their new Hamina, Finland data center. You'll want to brush off your Finnish language skills, as speaking both English and Finnish is required for the job.

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Data Center Technician (Rack/Stack/Cable/Troubleshoot) at their San Jose offices. The right person for the job will have at least a year's worth of experience working in a raised floor data center.

Parsons in Annapolis, MD is planning to hire an experienced Principal Project Manager. The chosen candidate will take their 15+ years of planning and management experience on the road to oversee large data center construction projects both in the U.S. and overseas.
