Twitter Getting Its Own Data Center
One of the biggest stories in data center news this weekend: Twitter is switching from NTT America’s managed hosting and Amazon’s cloud services to its own private data center, or perhaps to rented wholesale space.
Their ever-growing community of users is finally getting so huge that it requires them to have their own facility… looks like the old infrastructure isn’t equipped to deal with the demands of the huge base of devoted users Twitter has attracted in past years.
What does this mean for NTT, though? Twitter will be a hard act to follow, especially since they’ve expanded to cope with Twitter’s incredible growth.
